A Cultural Journey through Art Lendlease and NASCA explore Daniel Boyd’s pioneering exhibition Lendlease team members had the extraordinary opportunity to delve into the work of acclaimed First Nations contemporary artist, Daniel Boyd during a unique cultural learning event organised by NASCA. Joined by NASCA students, including Boyd’s own daughter and nephew, who are part of NASCA’s program, the group was treated to a tour of Boyd’s landmark 2022 solo exhibition, Treasure Island, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. This was Boyd’s inaugural showcase at a major public art museum, featuring over 80 pieces that span two decades of his artistic journey. The exhibition intricately maps Boyd’s intellectual engagement with themes of legacy, inheritance, and Australia’s colonial past.  As one of Australia’s leading contemporary artists, and with heritage spanning diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, as well as ni-Vanuatu roots, Boyd’s insights added a layer of profound depth to the tour. Sharing this enlightening experience with NASCA youth made it an unforgettable event for all.
